The Road Traveled
Originally from Houston, TX, Russell began writing music at a young age. Over his career he has continually sought to broaden his musical scope and is an accomplished musician in songwriting, composition, production, and live performance. Russell is fluent in various instruments including guitar, keyboard, bass, drums, percussion, vocals, as well as audio engineering and programming. Russell is currently active in composition for theater, advertising, television, film, and gaming. His previous work includes seven self-written and produced albums ranging in genre from acoustic rock/pop/folk, to alternative/indie, electronic, orchestral, and everything in between. Although he now calls Columbus, OH home, Russell has played around the US as well as abroad in the UK.
Early in his career as a songwriter and performer Russell developed a unique style that encompasses rock/pop/acoustic/indie influences. Intricate chord structures, rhythmic verses, and melodic choruses are all defining characteristics of Russell's music, which carries with it similarities to that of Duncan Sheik, Toad the Wet Sprocket, and David Gray to name a few. Sevens , the latest release from Russell Boiarsky, is a true songwriter's album focusing on the delicate relationship between crafted lyrics and familiar acoustic tonalities. It is available digitally on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, and the remainder of the usual online suspects as well as physically through Russell's online store.
